Meet Tara

Storytelling has shaped my life from the moment I was born. Because I was deaf, I never left my mum’s side, which meant I grew up around adults, not children, surrounded by conversations about ambition, business and freedom. At thirteen I had my own babysitting business with a cancellation policy, and at seventeen I did a TED Talk using my story to connect emotionally with hundreds of people. That was the first time I realised the real power of storytelling.

After studying psychology at university, working as a data analyst and eventually setting up my marketing business, I saw firsthand what storytelling can really do. In the first week of working with a client, one story post helped her make a £900 sale and go from zero to 500 followers, and all I did was share her story in one post.

I spent two years as a food blogger and quickly shifted into something I wasn’t really seeing anyone else do. Instead of posting pretty clips with music slapped over the top, I started telling the deeper story behind the restaurants, the values of the founders and my own story as the creator. This angle built a highly engaged audience because it wasn’t just another aesthetic video, it was a deeper insight into the heart of hidden gems and the people running them.
